DOT Physicals

What are DOT physicals?

Federal law requires drivers of commercial motor vehicles (DMVs) to receive regular physical examinations. These exams are defined as the “Department of Transportation Medical Examinations.” DOT physicals are highly regulated for the drivers’ safety. They detect physical, mental, and emotional issues that can affect a driver’s ability to safely drive a commercial vehicle.

DOT medical examiners are specially trained to understand the regulations and prevent drivers from being inappropriately disqualified. Our DOT physicals are performed by board-certified, NRCME-certified clinicians who are dedicated to continuing education in the latest healthcare issues, trends, and treatments.

Getting your DOT physical is simple!

  1. Schedule your appointment. Schedule an appointment prior to your visit to reduce your wait time and ensure a DOT accredited provider is available at the location.
  2. Get your physical. We will perform an examination, including:
    • Health history review
    • A thorough physical exam
    • A urine test
  3. We’ll complete the Medical Examination Report for Commercial Driver Fitness Determination form and its supporting documentation, including DOT physical forms. You must pass all DOT physical requirements in order to be cleared for your CDL medical card.
